Removing and Tearing Down the 4AGE

It took some time to get some more help but I finally got the engine out. My buddy that was helping took a job on a fishing boat in Alaska so I had to look elsewhere. I found a local mobile mechanic on Craigslist and shot him an email. Josh came by and had my engine out after only a few hours.
After removing the transmission, I was happy to find that the guy who sold me the car was telling the truth when he said it has a lightweight flywheel.
Before leaving, Josh was kind enough to put the engine on the stand after removing the bolts to the rear main seal housing.
About a week after getting the engine pulled, my now fiance Samantha helped me start getting the engine torn down. It was during a bit of a cold front so we remove as much as possible before it became too cold to work. We focused on removing all of the accessories and the intake manifold. Hopefully, we can get to the internals soon and figure out what exactly went wrong in the engine to burn so much oil. One of the next things I want to do is get the intake manifold cleaned and plumbed for the vacuum canister to prepare it for running with the open trumpets. I know I'll have to tear it down and find a way to clean it up. Maybe buy a portable bead blaster and some ground walnut shells to blast away all the grime and oxidation? Get her looking nice and pretty.
